This particular article is one in a series of many stories about how certain states where Hollywood loved to film in the past, now don’t offer the same tax breaks they once did. It’s often cheaper to film a movie in places like Louisiana and pay to have everyone’s own hotel or homes in those states for months of shooting compared to the cost of shooting in Los Angeles or NYC. It’s been a growing issue and it matters because it shows how your states, especially those in poor economic States, could be making money but instead are choosing to charge high rates. Sounds like Hollywood nonsense but the people you elect have power to change these things but they’re not considered pressing issues or solutions for debt issues.
